Poem (Written July 15 2010)

As I sway from side to side
I try to think of all my joys
I listen to the cars go by
The buzzing bees of the city

I hear the rustle of the trees
See the waves ripple
Alas the bridge bell sounds
Another boat arriving

The day is hot
I felt it along the promenade
Bare chests glistened
As I breathed to the sound of my footsteps

After I hear the doorbell chime
And a brief encounter occurs
I return to the hammock
And nibble on my daily rations
